Panama's Mulino has said that any mine talks would use a new mechanism

Panama’s president-elect says he has no proposal for reopening a giant copper mine in the Central American country. Mulino says any future operating model wouldn’t use the type of contract that was previously signed and was “plagued with unconstitutionalities”

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. will seek talks with Panama’s incoming president in an effort to resolve the dispute that shuttered the Cobre Panama copper mine. The mine was shuttered by the government of Panama in 2010. First Quantum will seek to resolve its dispute with Panama's incoming president.
