Final farewell “bittersweet” for Iwama and IU Northwest grads

Indiana University Northwest Chancellor Ken Iwama recalls his introduction to campus life in 2020. He replaces Susan Sciame-Giesecke, who’s retiring, starts his new post July 1. A search for his successor will begin, and a new interim leadership plan will soon be disclosed. The ceremony was a poignant goodbye for Iwama.

Ken Iwama is stepping down to become IU’s vice president for regional campuses and online education. Iwama succeeds Susan Sciame-Giesecke who is retiring. He came to IUN in 2020 from City University of New York, College of Staten Island, where he oversaw economic development.
