Net neutrality restored as Federal Communications Commission votes to regulate internet providers

The Federal Trade Commission has voted to restore rules to prevent broadband internet providers from favoring some sites and apps over others.

The agency released a final order clarifying that pay-to-play internet "fast lanes" for consumers violate its net neutrality rules. It also guarantees the new rules won't preempt state broadband affordability programs.
