Tadej Pogacar dominates Giro d'Italia with stage eight win

Tadej Pogacar won stage eight of the Giro d’Italia by riding really well from Spoleto to Prati di Tivo. He climbed a tough mountain and won the stage, keeping his lead in the race. Valentin Paret-Peintre tried to break away but was caught near the finish. Pogacar then sprinted to win the stage after more than four hours of racing. Daniel Martínez came second, and Ben O’Connor was third. Pogacar now leads the race by 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Stage nine will be a 214km run from Avezzano to Naples. In another stage, Pogacar won a time trial by going faster than everyone else. He caught up and beat Filippo Ganna to extend his lead in the race. Geraint Thomas struggled and lost time. Pogacar now leads the race by 2 minutes and 36 seconds. The Giro d’Italia will end in Rome on May 26.
