Story

Nelly Korda thinks she has been playing really good golf for the past few months. Madelene Sagstrom, who has done well on this course for the last three years, scored 66 to reach 19-under 197. She had a round with no bogeys, making six birdies, including three in a row on the last three holes of the front nine. She felt very focused and in the moment. Jennifer Kupcho, who had a tie for seventh place in six events this year, said the most important thing for her is to relax and enjoy the moment, even when not hitting great shots. Korda mentioned that her performance was good yesterday but poor today, which is just how golf can be. She shot a bogey-free 66 on Friday. The LPGA Tour record for the largest comeback in winning a tournament is 10 shots. This was Korda's fifth consecutive win, tying her with Hall of Famers Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez for the longest winning streak on the tour. Sagstrom praised Korda for bringing attention to women's golf. Starting her second round with a 10-stroke deficit, Korda shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 to move into third place, four shots behind leaders Zhang and Sagstrom. Zhang, who tied the tournament record with a 63 on Thursday, had a 68 in the morning. Korda made six birdies, finishing with a 6-foot putt on the 18th hole. She was happy with her putting and hoped to continue playing well in the next 36 holes. Zhang, a two-time NCAA champion at Stanford, won the Mizuho Americas Open in her professional debut last year. She mentioned that there are always learning curves in golf and she is enjoying the experience. Sagstrom, who finished third and tenth in previous years, had a mixed round with seven birdies, an eagle, a bogey, and a double bogey. Lydia Ko, Minjee Lee, and Hannah Green were also playing well in the tournament.
