In New Delhi on May 14, there was an incident where Swati Maliwal, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, was allegedly assaulted at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by his personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar. The Chief Minister took notice of this incident and ordered strict action to be taken. However, Swati Maliwal has not yet contacted the Delhi Police to file a complaint. The police are waiting for her complaint, and if it is not received, they may reach out to her. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House meeting was disrupted by BJP councillors who demanded the appointment of a 'Dalit' Mayor and discussed the alleged assault on Swati Maliwal. The meeting was adjourned without any discussion due to the chaos caused by the BJP councillors. The Delhi Mayor mentioned that the BJP councillors have been causing disruptions in the house for some time now. The Delhi Police received distress calls reporting the assault on Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence. The incident occurred just before the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and after Arvind Kejriwal was released from jail. The Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are contesting the elections together. The Delhi Police call logbook detailing the distress calls has been shared on social media. There were two distress calls reporting the assault on Swati Maliwal by the Chief Minister's personal assistant. The BJP's IT cell chief claimed that Maliwal accused the personal assistant of the Chief Minister of assaulting her. However, no official complaint was filed at the time of reporting. The BJP spokesperson labeled the Chief Minister's personal assistant as a troublemaker based on past incidents of misconduct.
