Lauren Boebert defends Trump's courtroom behavior

During a meeting where important questions were asked, Lauren Boebert, a Republican who supports MAGA, tried very hard to explain why Donald Trump seemed to be sleeping during his trial for breaking the law. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) thought it was strange and watched it happen on May 18, 2024. Lauren Boebert, a strong-willed representative, made an effort to clarify that Donald Trump wasn't sleeping during his trial, but was actually praying, according to her, during a meeting in the House. However, she did mention that if he was indeed sleeping, as many have said, at least he looked good while doing so. Her comments came after Rep. Robert Garcia, a Democrat, talked about the times when Mr. Trump seemed to have fallen asleep during the trial about paying hush money to a porn star named Stormy Daniels. He said that it's not President Biden who seems slow, but actually Donald Trump, who is too tired and sleepy to stay awake during his own trial. Lauren Boebert responded by saying, "I think he's praying. But if he is sleeping, he certainly looks pretty while he sleeps. Maybe it's a sweet moment of prayer, though." She also mentioned that when she falls asleep on airplanes, her mouth opens, but Mr. Trump's mouth stays closed, so maybe he's just thinking deeply. She also argued that the trial is boring enough to make anyone fall asleep, unlike the more interesting House Oversight Committee meetings. Donald Trump is being tried for 34 charges of falsifying business records related to a payment made to Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about an alleged affair in 2006. He denies the affair and has pleaded not guilty. Boebert stated that the former president was having a sweet moment of prayer and not sleeping during his trial in New York.
