Russian Su-25 jet shot down by Ukrainian fighter jet, at least 11 killed in ongoing conflict

In Ukraine, there were attacks in the northeast causing at least 11 deaths on Sunday due to Russia's renewed offensive. The Kharkiv region was the main target of the attacks. In the regional capital, also called Kharkiv, six people died and 27 were injured in a Russian strike. Additionally, five people were killed and nine were wounded in an attack on the Kupiansk district, southeast of the regional capital. Russia's Ministry of Defense stated that their forces were advancing into the enemy's territory in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian officials reported an increase in Russian attacks around Kharkiv, describing the situation as dynamic. Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned that the offensive in the Kharkiv region was to create a buffer zone, not to capture the city. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 37 Russian drones launched overnight. In retaliation, Russian air defenses shot down 57 Ukrainian drones over the southern Krasnodar region. There were reports of drone debris hitting an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, but no significant damage occurred. Videos circulating online showed an explosion at the refinery, allegedly caused by a drone strike. Three more drones were shot down in the Belgorod region near the Ukrainian border. In a separate incident, falling drone debris set a church roof on fire in Russia, with no reported casualties. In the partially occupied Kherson region, one person died and 16 were injured when a Ukrainian drone hit a minibus.
