El Paso Catholic migrant shelter under fire again from Texas Attorney General

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton again requested a state judge revoke the registration of a Catholic nonprofit in El Paso that runs migrant shelters. Annunciation House has been around for almost 50 years. In February, the Attorney General's Office sued the group, accusing it of human smuggling and operating a stash house.

"That is madness, sheer madness, to close the border and leave them there, that is madness," the Pope said through a translator. "The migrant has to be received, thereafter you see how you are going to deal with them, maybe you have to send them back, I don't know, but each case ought to be considered humanely."
