Story

A child was shot in front of a grocery store in Lauderhill on Monday morning. The incident happened at the Lauderhill Mall parking lot in front of the Fresco y Mas store off SR 7 on Memorial Day. Witnesses saw two drivers arguing in front of the store. One of the drivers started shooting randomly after getting out of his car. The child was hit in the foot during the shooting. The detectives found out that three vehicles were involved in the incident: a white Toyota Prius, a white Chevrolet SUV, and a black Chevrolet SUV. The woman who drove the black Chevrolet SUV came back to the shooting location and is helping with the investigation. The person responsible for the shooting, Lockhart, has been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and felony probation violation. He is currently in custody at the Broward County Jail. The child's injury was not life-threatening, and he was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. Nurse Katrina Hamilton, who was present at the scene, helped stop the bleeding and wrapped the child's foot with his shirt until paramedics arrived. The detectives are still working on identifying the occupant of the white Toyota Prius involved in the incident.
