Story

Eleven cats were saved at Kennywood in the last two weeks. KDKA-TV's Alexandra Todd reported on this. More kittens were discovered at Kennywood over the weekend. Rescue and Relax received information on Saturday that a ride in Kiddieland was closed because a kitten was underneath it. The rescue group is familiar with the park as they were there last weekend to rescue a mother cat and her babies. Local trapper Randi Krohmaly returned to the park to search for the kitten and any others. Eventually, the trapper caught a mother cat and three kittens. The rescue group mentioned that there might be a black tomcat that wanders around the park. They plan to focus on locating him and getting him neutered. Alysia Finger, the founder of Rescue and Relax, explained that kittens can start having babies at four months old, have a short gestation period of two months, and can have litters of up to 13 kittens. Last weekend, a kitten found near the exit of Kennywood led to the rescue of another mother cat and her kittens. It's important to reunite kittens with their families rather than keeping or giving them away. Usually, there are multiple kittens and a mother in need of rescue. The rescue group mentioned that while the first batch of Kennywood kittens brought in some donations, they still require wet food, dry food, kitten milk replacer, and litter.
