- Allegations of corruption and political interference arise in the case
The Maharashtra government formed a three-member committee after two doctors and a hospital employee were arrested for tampering with a blood sample in the Pune Porsche crash case. The committee is led by Dr. Pallavi Saple, the dean of Grant Medical College, with Dr. Gajanan Chavan and Dr. Sudhir Chowdhary as members. Opposition leaders are unhappy with Dr. Saple's appointment due to corruption allegations against her. The opposition leaders demand a judicial probe into the Porsche crash and question the government's seriousness in handling the issue. Dr. Saple, appointed by the government, refrained from commenting on the charges against her. She mentioned that the committee would investigate all aspects of the case and submit a report to the government. In another incident related to the case, Tingre visited the Yerwada Police Station after a young couple's accident. He denied pressuring the police and clarified his stance against nightlife. False information circulating on social media accused Tingre of influencing the police, which he refuted. After the arrests, an old letter from Tingre recommending Dr. Taware for the post of medical superintendent at Sassoon Hospital surfaced. Tingre explained that as a public representative, he often provides recommendation letters and emphasized the need for accurate understanding of the situation.
