The launch of a new $47 million whaling “mothership,” Kangei Maru, has renewed the fears of Japan’s whale hunting practices. CNN’s Hanako Montgomery reports why Japan’s establishment is supporting investment in whaling despite criticism and a decline in whale meat consumption.
