Robert De Niro loses leadership award over anti-Trump remarks

Film actor Robert De Niro was going to get an award from the National Association of Broadcasters. But they changed their mind and took back the award. This happened because De Niro spoke out against Donald Trump at his trial in New York. The group said they want to focus on helping others, not on De Niro's actions. So, they decided he can't come to the event anymore. De Niro didn't argue with the decision. He still likes the group. De Niro is a Democrat and supports Joe Biden. He was at a Biden event with two police officers who were at the US Capitol during the attack on January 6, 2021. De Niro said it's important to stop Trump by voting him out. Some people who support Trump didn't like what De Niro said. They think Biden is desperate. They said De Niro is just an old actor. But De Niro thinks Trump is a serious problem.
