Story

Jeremy Renner returned to the set of "Mayor of Kingstown" as part of his recovery from a near-death snowcat accident. He plays the character Mike McLusky in the show. When he first returned to filming in January, a year after the accident, Renner had low endurance and was surprised he could do his own stunts. He had to reduce his work hours from 14-hour days to shorter hours like a child actor. Renner mentioned that long work hours are not good for anyone, and the crew supported his decision to work shorter hours. Renner admitted to People magazine that he was not in great shape when he returned for the third season. He struggled initially because he had not seen the crew for a while and needed time to adjust. Despite his challenges, Renner did not want to halt production as many people depended on the jobs. During filming, he doubted his ability to perform certain stunts but was pleased that he could do them successfully without any injuries. In a trailer for the new season, Renner expressed his surprise at being able to do fight choreography. His co-star and executive producer, Dillon, praised Renner's progress and performance, stating that it was a joy to be part of the show's journey from Renner's recovery to his successful return to filming.
