One of Thailand’s most wanted criminals was caught in Bali, Indonesia. He had been running away for a long time because of crimes he did in Thailand. The man, Chaowalit Thongduang, ran away from a hospital in Thailand. When the police caught him in Bali, he was using a fake ID from Indonesia. He got this fake ID when he came to Indonesia from India by boat. The police found him in an apartment in Bali and took away four phones and fake documents from him. The police are now looking into people who helped him get the fake ID. The Justice Minister of Thailand, Tawee Sodsong, went to Indonesia to meet Chaowalit. They will take him back to Thailand on a military plane. In Thailand, he is wanted for hurting or killing police officers, other people, and for selling drugs. Tawee said Chaowalit was impressed that the police found him even though he went through many countries. The Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, believes that the legal system will punish Chaowalit. Indonesia and Thailand have an agreement to send criminals back to each other since 1978.
