Peter Thiel donated $15 million to JD Vance's successful Republican campaign. Vance claimed the 2020 election was stolen and criticized Biden's immigration policy. Billionaires are giving a lot of money to the 2024 election, mostly to the Trump Republican party. During Trump's presidency, the economy lost 2.9 million jobs. Tax cuts under Trump and Bush, along with their extensions, helped reduce the federal debt compared to the national economy. The billionaire support for Trump and the Republican party is not just about tax cuts and fewer regulations. Musk, Thiel, Schwarzman, Murdoch, and other billionaires seem to oppose many things that have happened since the 1920s, like Social Security, civil rights, and women's right to vote. They support Trump and neo-fascists, which could harm democracy. In history, extreme income and wealth gaps led to unequal political power, creating leaders who destroy democracy and freedom. Musk, Thiel, Schwarzman, Murdoch, and other billionaires are showing their influence, which can empower strongmen who threaten everyone, even the rich. To protect our freedom, we need a strong pro-democracy movement to counter the anti-democracy actions of billionaires and neo-fascists like Trump.
