Cyndi Lauper is going on a farewell tour called "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour." She will visit 23 cities in North America, starting in Montreal on October 18 and ending in Chicago on December 5. One of her stops will be in Boston at MGM Music Hall at Fenway on October 26. The tour is named after her famous song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" from her album "She's So Unusual" released in 1983. A new documentary called "Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing" directed by Allison Ellwood will explore Cyndi Lauper's rise to fame and her impact on music, style, and advocacy. The documentary will show special moments in her career, like performing "Time After Time" with Patti LaBelle in 1985 and her advocacy for HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, and women's rights. It will also reveal lesser-known parts of her life, such as her time in the band Blue Angel in the early 1980s. The documentary premieres on June 4 on Paramount+. Cyndi Lauper, a two-time Grammy winner, is starting her farewell tour after 10 years. The tour begins on October 18 in Montreal and will visit cities like Boston, New York City, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and more before ending on December 5 in Chicago.
