Miles Russell, a 15-year-old from Florida, made history by becoming the youngest player to make a cut in the Korn Ferry Tour. He got a special invitation to play in his first PGA Tour event, the Rocket Mortgage Classic. This is a big deal for him because he has always dreamed of playing against the best golfers in the world. Rickie Fowler, a famous golfer, will also be playing in the Rocket Mortgage Classic. In April, Miles shot a great score of 5-under 66 at the Lecom Suncoast Classic in Florida, which helped him qualify for the PGA Tour. He's a high school freshman from Jacksonville Beach who has been doing online classes since 8th grade. In 2023, he won the American Junior Golf Association player of the year award by winning the Junior PGA Championship and the Junior Players Championship. Miles will be back in Detroit in July to play in the U.S. Amateur at Oakland Hills Country Club. The organizers of the Rocket Mortgage Classic are excited to have him play in their event. Even though he didn't qualify for a PGA Tour event earlier this year, he's shown that he's a talented young golfer. Another young golfer, Guan Tianlang from China, holds the record for being the youngest player to make a cut in a PGA Tour event. He was only 14 when he achieved this at the 2013 Masters tournament.
