Some of the people involved made a lot of money from these bets, but one of them couldn't get most of the winnings because a betting company became suspicious. The man named Pham, who was part of the scheme, was arrested after appearing in court. The NBA banned Porter after finding out he shared private health information with a bettor and used someone else's account to bet on games he wasn't playing in. The NBA also shared this information with the authorities. Porter was earning about $410,000 this year. He played in 26 games, starting in five of them, and had average stats.
