Cameron Brink, Rhyne Howard, Van Lith Lead US Women's 3x3 Olympic Basketball Team for Paris Olympics

USA Basketball announced the women's 3x3 team for the Paris Olympics. Hailey Van Lith, a college All-American, is on the team. She will play with Cameron Brink, Rhyne Howard, and Cierra Burdick. Van Lith has had a busy 18 months. She was an All-American at Louisville, then transferred to LSU. Her performance in LSU was not as good, and her draft stock dropped. However, she was still picked as the 2nd overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Howard and Burdick will also make their Olympic debuts. Burdick, at 30, is the oldest player on the team. The 3x3 event debuted at the Tokyo games. It's different from 5-on-5 as it's played in half-court with a 10-minute game clock and a 12-second shot clock. The play is continuous, and teams clear the ball behind the 2-point line after a made basket, defensive rebound, or steal. Cameron Brink, a rookie center for the Los Angeles Sparks, has been performing well. She was named to the Team USA 3x3 basketball team for the Paris Olympics along with Van Lith, Howard, and Burdick. Brink has shown strength in defense, with good stats in steals and blocks. Van Lith was an All-American at Louisville and transferred to LSU. She then moved to TCU after LSU fell short in the championship. Howard has quickly become a top player in the WNBA, earning Rookie of the Year and All-Star selections. Burdick is the most experienced player on the team, having won gold medals in various 3x3 events. The United States is aiming for a second straight women's 3x3 gold medal. The team for the Paris Olympics includes Brink, Howard, Burdick, and Van Lith. They have experience in winning gold medals in previous tournaments. The team will be coached by Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun. The 3x3 game is played on a half-court with specific rules like a 10-minute clock and 12-second shot clock.
