An officer shot and killed a man in Brentwood after a chase in the South Hills on Wednesday evening. The officer tried to stop a black Nissan Rogue, but it sped away. This made people in Brentwood feel worried because not much usually happens there. About six minutes later, Brentwood officers found the vehicle on Route 51 and started chasing it. During the chase, the suspect fought with a Brentwood officer, and the police saw that the suspect had a gun. The suspect was shot during the fight and taken to a hospital, where he died. The police found a gun on him. Residents like Bill Sorochman feel sad about what happened, saying it shows how society has changed. Brentwood is a small, close community. Superintendent Kearns believes the officer had a body camera on. The Brentwood Police asked the County Police Homicide Unit and detectives to handle the investigation.
