80 years ago today, allied forces attacked the beaches of Normandy, which was a very important moment in World War II. People all over the world are remembering this event. In France, they are showing respect to the surviving veterans, many of whom are about 100 years old. Atlantic City has also created a tribute to honor this day. Nikki DeMentri will tell us more about the man who inspired this memorial at the shore. On the 80th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, Atlantic City will reveal a new memorial to honor Sgt. Bernie Friedenberg, a decorated hero from WWII. Friedenberg, who was from New Jersey and attended Temple University, joined the military after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was one of the first soldiers to land on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.
