Poll finds Biden supporters mostly back him due to opposition to Trump

Trump has enjoyed an edge over Biden in most polls taken in recent months, although there is some evidence of a slight shift towards the president in the wake of his predecessor’s felony conviction. The poll found that 55% of likely voters say that Trump’s conviction is not a factor in their choice for president, with 28% saying it will be a major factor. The main motivating issues for voters are the state of the US economy, inflation, the health of democracy, and crime, according to the poll. President Biden has made progress in conserving land and water, with about 41 million acres placed under protection during his term, representing about 13% of the US landmass. The administration aims to conserve 30% of US land and water by 2030. Biden has been praised for his conservation efforts, which include safeguarding areas from oil and gas drilling and prioritizing conservation on public lands. Trump, on the other hand, took steps to shrink national monuments during his presidency. Biden's conservation work is seen as crucial for the environment and is expected to endure even if Trump were to win the presidential election in November.
