Former nurse Lucy Letby on trial for attempted murder of baby girl

Former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby is facing trial for an allegation of attempting to murder a baby girl at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The jury was unable to reach verdicts on six counts of attempted murder, and Letby will now be retried for one of those counts involving a baby girl known as Child K. Despite her denial of the charges, Letby was convicted of seven counts of murder and seven of attempted murder. She has applied for leave to appeal her convictions but has been refused on all grounds. Letby maintains her innocence and was cleared of two counts of attempted murder in the original trial.
