Rudy Giuliani was processed in Phoenix on Monday, weeks after pleading not guilty in Arizona to charges of allegedly conspiring to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Donald Trump’s former attorney was given 30 days to appear and get his mug shot and fingerprints taken, according to a Maricopa County court commissioner. Giuliani was served on May 17 in Palm Beach, Florida, at his 80th birthday bash held by a GOP operative. Arizona prosecutors spent weeks trying to track him down and eventually found him based on his podcasts. Giuliani also posted a $10,000 bond in cash on Monday. A grand jury in Arizona handed up indictments last month charging over a dozen Trump allies, including fake electors and individuals connected to his campaign, over their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss. Giuliani faces multiple legal challenges stemming from his time as Trump’s attorney after the 2020 presidential election, including bankruptcy, defamation lawsuits, and federal election subversion cases. Giuliani pleaded not guilty in May to nine felony charges in the Arizona case. He is among 18 people indicted, including Trump attorneys and campaign members. Giuliani's spokesperson, Ted Goodman, stated that Giuliani will be fully vindicated and criticized the charges as partisan interference with the 2024 presidential election. Giuliani's mugshot was released in connection to the Arizona 'fake electors' case, where he allegedly pressured election officials to change the election results. Giuliani has faced backlash for his comments and actions, including being indicted in Georgia on election fraud charges. The indictment accuses Giuliani and others of interfering with the lawful transfer of the presidency and depriving Arizona voters of their rights.
