Stamp Out Hunger food drive collects over 126,000 pounds in Macomb County

The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive in Macomb County collected over 126,000 pounds of food. Local postal workers and volunteers gathered non-perishable items for the 32nd annual event. The food is sorted and boxed at the Community Food Bank of Macomb County in Clinton Township. Alec Williams noted a significant increase in food demand in recent years. Volunteers help with sorting and boxing, and the food is distributed to 50-60 pantries in the county. The drive is strategically timed before school ends to address the increased need for food when children are home during the summer break.
