Heather Wells, a passenger on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Charlotte, caused a disturbance by allegedly attempting to open the front cabin door mid-flight. She was restrained with duct tape and flex cuffs after biting, spitting, and assaulting staff and passengers. The Federal Aviation Administration fined her $81,950 for her actions and has now filed a lawsuit to collect the money.
