France forward Marcus Thuram has urged his compatriots to "fight" against the far right in the upcoming national parliamentary elections triggered by Rassemblement National's victory in the European elections. Thuram, the son of France legend Lilian Thuram, became the first player to politicize the European Championship by calling on citizens to reject RN during the tournament. French president Emmanuel Macron announced the snap poll following RN's European election triumph, led by Jordan Bardella, a protégé of Marine Le Pen.
