Two separate incidents in North Texas involving intoxicated drivers causing harm have recently come to light. In the first case, a Fort Worth man, Benjamin Hylander, struck two bicyclists near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport while under the influence of alcohol. One cyclist, Thomas Geppert, was severely injured and transported to a medical center, while the other victim, Deborah Eads, suffered a severe laceration. Hylander, who had a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, is facing multiple charges related to the incident. In a separate incident, Juan Morgan Munoz, a Texas man with previous DWI convictions, fatally struck a pedestrian in Dallas while intoxicated. When stopped by police, Munoz was found with an arm in his vehicle, along with other signs of impairment. He is facing charges of felony DWI and a collision involving death. These cases highlight the dangers of driving under the influence and the serious consequences that can result from such reckless behavior.
