The two leaders also witnessed the signing of various pacts, including a new five-year deal for economic and trade cooperation, with a focus on high-level manufacturing and the digital economy. Malaysia is set to export fresh durians to China, opening a new market for the country. The prickly issue of territorial claims in the South China Sea was also raised during the talks. Li's visit marks the first by a Chinese premier to Malaysia since 2015. The leaders also attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the East Coast Rail Link, a key part of China's Belt and Road infrastructure initiative. The visit aims to strengthen ties and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
