Story

McDonald’s has introduced a $5 value meal to attract customers and boost sales. The meal includes a choice of a McDouble cheeseburger or a McChicken sandwich, small french fries, 4-piece chicken nuggets, and a small soft drink. This move comes as other fast food chains like Burger King, Wendy’s, and Starbucks have also launched meal deals recently. McDonald’s is addressing concerns about its prices being too high, with the company's president emphasizing that the average price of a Big Mac in the US was $4.39 in 2019, representing a 21% increase, not 100%. Customers have been expressing frustration over fast food prices, leading to reduced spending and slower sales. In response, McDonald’s franchisees are offering additional deals like “buy one, get one” breakfast sandwiches for $1 in Memphis and a double cheeseburger and small fries combo for $3.50 in Columbus, Ohio. The company aims to provide affordable prices and create memorable experiences for customers. McDonald’s upcoming earnings report is expected to be released in late July.
