Sky News viewers were stunned by the exit poll noises

Kay Burley and Andy Burnam made noises of shock and awe as exit poll results were revealed. Labour was forecast to win a landslide 170-seat majority, with Tories reduced to their lowest number of MPs on record. Bridget Phillipson held Houghton and Sunderland South, but Reform pushed Conservatives into third place.

As the results from the exit poll were released at 10pm, presenters across Sky, ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC revealed to the nation that Sir Keir Starmer is on track to win 410 of the 650 seats.
