After the Alec Baldwin trial falls apart, the lawyer for Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will try to have her case dismissed
Attorneys for “Rust” movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed – convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 on-set fatal shooting of a cinematographer – have filed a motion for a new trial or to have her case thrown out after the related case against actor Alec Baldwin was dismissed in dramatic fashion last week.
An attorney for Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on the set of the film “Rust,” says he plans to file a motion early next week to have her case dismissed, citing misconduct by the prosecution that prompted the judge in the trial of Alec Baldwin to toss out his case.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is expected to be called to the stand in Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter trial. Baldwin was holding the prop gun that fired at Halyna Hutchins, killing her. Baldwin's attorneys have said she plans to plead the fifth. Baldwin is accused of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Hutchins.
