The organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games have revealed the venues for 19 additional sports, expanding on the initial announcement made in June. The iconic SoFi Stadium will host swimming, while athletics will take place at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Long Beach and Carson will play significant roles, with Long Beach hosting open-water swimming, triathlon, sailing, rowing, and more, and Carson hosting track cycling, field hockey, rugby sevens, and tennis. The LA28 chief athlete officer, Janet Evans, expressed pride in bringing the Games to diverse communities with world-class venues. Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades will be the venue for golf, adding to its prestigious history of hosting major golf tournaments. The Los Angeles Convention Center will host fencing, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, and wrestling, while the nearby Peacock Theater will be the site for weightlifting. Badminton will take place at the University of Southern California's Galen Center. The Carson Sports Center will host various sports, including tennis, rugby sevens, field hockey, and track cycling at the velodrome. Carson and Long Beach will reprise their roles from previous Olympic Games held in the region, with Long Beach hosting rowing, canoe sprint, handball, marathon swimming, triathlon, sailing, water polo, and artistic swimming.
