Broward Men Perish in Palm Beach County Plane Crash

Two Broward County men tragically lost their lives in a plane crash near North County Airport in Palm Beach County. Stephen Taylor, 59, of Hollywood, and Gojko Damjanic, 58, of Fort Lauderdale, were pulled from the crash site and later pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when an aircraft carrying the two men crashed into a body of water. Dive teams from various rescue units were deployed to retrieve the victims, but despite their efforts, Taylor and Damjanic could not be saved. Damjanic, a well-known figure in the arts community, was an instructor at Berklee College of Music in Boston and a dedicated volunteer and donor for Funding Broward Arts. His wife paid tribute to him as a man of integrity, kindness, and warmth, whose legacy will endure through the lives he touched. A celebration of Damjanic's life is scheduled for July 23 at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Fort Lauderdale, with donations to Funding Arts Broward encouraged in his honor. The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, along with other agencies, assisted in the rescue operation and secured the crash scene for the National Transportation Safety Board's investigation.
