In a recent interview with CNBC, Pascal Brier, Chief Innovation Officer at Capgemini, revealed that the development of multi-agent AI systems is anticipated by 2025. These systems will consist of collaborative AI agents that can work together to solve tasks, marking a significant advancement in artificial intelligence technology. Brier noted that while the U.S. is leading in this area, Europe is currently lagging behind in the adoption of such technologies. Capgemini categorizes AI agents into two types: individual agents that perform tasks on behalf of users and multi-agent systems where agents communicate with one another. Despite the potential of these technologies, many companies are still struggling to monetize them effectively. Industry leader OpenAI, for instance, is reportedly spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the development of its GPT models and ChatGPT, highlighting the financial challenges in this sector. The report from Capgemini indicates a substantial increase in the integration of generative AI across organizations, with adoption rates rising from 6% in 2023 to 24% in 2024. This surge reflects a growing recognition of the technology's potential, particularly among larger firms. Notably, companies with annual revenues exceeding $20 billion have seen adoption rates climb to 49%, while smaller businesses have yet to experience similar growth in AI integration.
