A vibrant new sculpture trail featuring ten life-sized, brightly painted horse statues has been launched in Scunthorpe and its surrounding areas. The initiative, organized by North Lincolnshire Council, showcases five horses in the town center, with the remaining statues located at notable sites including Normanby Hall, Barton-upon-Humber, Scawby, Horkstow, and Redbourne. This free attraction aims to engage the community and enhance local culture. The Horsing Around trail commemorates the 300th anniversary of celebrated painter George Stubbs, renowned for his equestrian art and significant contributions to the field. Stubbs, who lived in Horkstow, is best known for his 1766 work, *The Anatomy of the Horse*, which has cemented his legacy as one of the UK's most esteemed equestrian painters. The trail not only honors his artistic achievements but also connects the community to its rich cultural heritage. Local school children and community groups collaborated with professional artists to create unique designs for each horse, fostering a sense of ownership and pride among residents.
