Arsenal to Sign Mikel Merino as Xhaka's Replacement

Arsenal Football Club is reportedly in the final stages of securing the signing of Mikel Merino, a midfielder from Real Sociedad and a recent Euro 2024 champion with Spain. The Gunners have been negotiating the deal since July, which is expected to involve an initial payment of £28.4 million, with an additional £4.2 million in performance-related add-ons. This move comes as a strategic response to the departure of Granit Xhaka, who left a gap in the team's midfield.
