Initially, the recall involved nearly 10,000 cases of Great Value brand apple juice sold by Walmart across 25 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. However, this has expanded to include approximately 134,000 cases from various brands produced by Refresco Beverages, a Florida-based manufacturer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has identified other affected brands, including those sold by Aldi, BJs, Market Basket, Walgreens, and Weis Markets. Walmart has taken proactive measures by removing the impacted products from its shelves and is collaborating with the supplier to investigate the contamination. The recalled Great Value apple juice was available in six-packs of 8-ounce plastic bottles and 96-ounce bottles at over 2,000 Walmart locations. The health and safety of customers remain a top priority for the retailer, as stated by a company spokesperson. Aldi U.S. is also recalling its Nature's Nectar 100% Apple Juice, specifically 64-ounce plastic bottles with best-by dates of March 26 and March 27, 2025. This product was sold in 16 states, including Alabama, Florida, and New York, among others. The recall reflects a growing concern over food safety and the potential health risks associated with arsenic exposure. As the investigation continues, consumers are urged to check their purchases and return any affected products to the stores for a refund.
