In a recent interview, actress Gina Gershon reminisced about her time working with Tom Cruise on the 1988 film "Cocktail." She described Cruise as “protective” during filming, even after an incident where she accidentally kneed him in the nose while shooting a sex scene. Gershon recalled, “I was like, ‘Oh my god! I just broke Tom Cruise’s nose,’” but noted that Cruise took the blame, showcasing his supportive nature on set. Despite its box office success, grossing $171.5 million worldwide, "Cocktail" faced harsh criticism, earning two Razzie Awards for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay. Gershon later transitioned to a more acclaimed role in the 1996 film "Bound," co-directed by the Wachowski sisters, where she played Corky alongside Jennifer Tilly. Reflecting on her career, Gershon expressed no hard feelings about her past roles, emphasizing her belief in the scripts she chooses. Looking ahead, Gershon is set to appear in the sci-fi film "Borderlands," which features a star-studded cast including Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart. The film, based on a popular video game, follows bounty hunter Lilith as she assembles a team to find a missing girl. However, Gershon has cautioned fans about the film's potential shortcomings, describing it as having “wildly miscast actors” and an “impenetrable script,” warning that it may disappoint both gamers and casual viewers alike. "Borderlands" is scheduled for theatrical release on August 9.
