Tottenham Signs Solanke for $83 Million

LONDON (AP) — Tottenham Hotspur has finalized the signing of striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in a deal valued at approximately £65 million ($83 million). The transfer comes just a week before the commencement of the new Premier League season, with Solanke agreeing to a six-year contract. Although the exact fee was not disclosed, Bournemouth described it as the largest financial package the club has ever received for a player. Reports indicate that Tottenham will pay an upfront fee of £55 million ($70 million), with an additional £10 million ($12.75 million) contingent on performance-related add-ons. Bournemouth's chief executive, Neill Blake, expressed that Solanke's standout performances, particularly during the 2023-24 season, attracted interest from a club of Tottenham's stature. He acknowledged Solanke's professionalism throughout the transfer process. During his five-year tenure at Bournemouth, Solanke netted 77 goals in 214 appearances, showcasing his capabilities as a forward.
