HIS Hawaii has announced the launch of 'Mālama Station' at the LeaLea Lounge in Honolulu, set to open on November 1, 2024. This initiative is part of a partnership with Hawai‘i Tourism Japan, aimed at promoting regenerative tourism and enhancing awareness of nature conservation and cultural preservation in Hawaii. The station will serve as an educational hub for tourists, offering programs and events that engage the local community in sustainability efforts. Notably, the station will implement campaigns encouraging visitors to participate in environmental initiatives, such as presenting microplastics for a trolley pass and providing reef-safe sunscreen. Additionally, HIS Hawaii has achieved Qurator Honored Status, reflecting its commitment to environmental and cultural support, equity, safety, community, and guest experience.
