Mumbai's Mankhurd police have initiated an investigation into a disturbing case involving a 13-year-old girl who has accused her relative of raping her over the course of a year. The victim, who had been living with the accused, bravely came forward to file a complaint on Thursday, prompting authorities to take immediate action. In a separate incident, the Samta Nagar police have arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing two minors, including a two-year-old girl and a teenager. The accused, who works as a housekeeper and lives near the victims, is facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The first reported incident occurred on August 8, when the accused allegedly assaulted the younger victim while her mother was occupied in the kitchen. Upon discovering the situation, the mother confronted the man, who responded with threats and abusive language. Following this alarming encounter, another neighbor informed the mother that the accused had previously exposed himself to a teenager in the vicinity. In light of these incidents, the mother promptly reported the matter to the Samta Nagar police, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Authorities are now working to ensure the safety of the victims and to gather further evidence in both cases as they seek justice for the affected minors.
