Ebola outbreak claims lives and spreads in Congo

In southern Congo, the World Health Organization has responded to an Ebola outbreak confirmed on September 4, 2025. This outbreak is significant as it marks the first occurrence of Ebola in Kasai province in 18 years, raising alarms for health officials and communities alike. Kasai, a remote area over 1,000 kilometers from Kinshasa, is grappling with poor road networks and limited access to health resources, complicating the response efforts.
