Prince William recruits friend of Harry and Meghan for Earthshot Prize

Prince William has enlisted chef José Andrés, a close friend of Harry and Meghan, for his Earthshot Prize initiative aimed at combating climate change. This project, which has a budget of £50 million, includes notable figures like Sir David Attenborough on its council. Andrés, who runs World Central Kitchen, is recognized for his humanitarian efforts and has been a charity partner with the Sussexes' Archewell foundation. He expressed excitement about using food as a means for creativity and change in addressing environmental issues. The Earthshot Prize, launched earlier this year, is touted as the most prestigious environmental award, providing £5 million in funding to deserving projects. The council, which also features environmental activists and authors, will evaluate and select initiatives that align with the prize's goals. Andrés's involvement highlights a collaborative effort to inspire global action against climate change through innovative solutions. Recently, Harry returned to the UK for a memorial service for their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, where he and William reportedly did not interact. This event marked their first public appearance together since the King's Coronation, and it was noted that they maintained a distance during the service. The ongoing tension between the brothers has been a point of public interest, especially following their last communication at the Queen's funeral in 2022. The Earthshot Prize ceremony is set to take place in Cape Town in November, where William will host the event.
