Story

Napoli is reportedly open to including Romelu Lukaku in negotiations with Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for Victor Osimhen. The Serie A club is eager to secure Lukaku, who is set to return to Chelsea's training facility in Cobham this week after two seasons on loan at Inter Milan and AS Roma. The 31-year-old forward will train with players not participating in Chelsea's U.S. tour, including Trevoh Chalobah, who is also available for transfer. Lukaku, who rejoined Chelsea for a record £97.5 million in 2021, has two years left on his contract and is believed to have agreed to a three-year deal with Napoli. However, Chelsea is reportedly seeking around £30 million for the striker and continues to negotiate with the Italian club, which needs to sell Osimhen to facilitate its own transfer activities. While Paris Saint-Germain was initially seen as the frontrunner for Osimhen, discussions have reportedly stalled. Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has set a release clause of approximately €130 million (£110 million) for Osimhen, who has been training separately and has not participated in pre-season matches. Chelsea has shown interest in the 25-year-old forward, especially after his pivotal role in helping Napoli win the Serie A title in 2023. The potential offloading of Lukaku could provide Chelsea with the financial flexibility to pursue Osimhen. In addition to these developments, Chelsea is nearing the signing of goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal for €24 million (£20.2 million). The 22-year-old is expected to complete his medical and join the team on tour, while 19-year-old defender Aaron Anselmino is set to sign a six-year contract and be loaned back to Boca Juniors.
