Egypt is witnessing a significant expansion in its luxury market, prompting the introduction of luxury dining and retail experiences in the capital city of Cairo. The Eastown District in New Cairo will host the country’s very first Nobu restaurant and hotel, set to open in Fall 2025. Ayman Amer, the general manager at SODIC, highlighted the growing demand for upscale dining in the rapidly developing area, fueled by an increasing tourism sector and ongoing development work in New Cairo. The new Nobu establishment will not only elevate the dining scene in Cairo but also position the city as an attractive destination for both international and regional tourists seeking luxury. The restaurant is expected to incorporate design elements inspired by Egypt's rich history and geographical features, such as its desert landscapes and iconic pyramids. The interior will feature natural materials, including woods and metals, combined with geometric patterns to create a unique ambiance. Guests can look forward to enjoying signature dishes that Nobu is famous for, including miso marinated black cod and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, alongside an exclusive cigar lounge and bar on the first floor. The lavish space will span 23,680 square feet, catering up to 300 diners with private dining options and event spaces. The overall design will blend Japanese minimalism with Egyptian artistry, ensuring a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Alongside the restaurant, the project will also launch a Nobu Hotel, which will boast more than 50 rooms, a luxurious pool area, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an amazing spa. With plans to expand further throughout Egypt, the partnership is poised to enhance the country’s hospitality landscape as it introduces new Nobu hotels, restaurants, and branded residences in different locations over the coming years.
