NEWARK, Del. (CBS) — A driver is on the run following a high-speed crash into the St. John AM Church in Newark, Delaware, early Friday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when the driver, traveling westbound on West Cleveland Avenue, lost control and veered off the road, colliding with the church located at the intersection of West Cleveland Avenue, Hillside, and New London roads. Police reported that the vehicle, identified as a red car, crashed into the side of the church before the driver fled the scene.
