WORCESTER – Excitement filled the air in Worcester on Tuesday as top Red Sox prospects Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, and Kyle Teel made their Triple-A debuts. Among them, Anthony, ranked as the No. 13 prospect in all of baseball, took center stage, starting the game in centerfield and batting leadoff for the Worcester team. He showcased his skills by going 3-for-4 at the plate, contributing significantly to the team's 4-3 victory over the IronPigs. Anthony's debut began with a shaky first swing, but he quickly found his rhythm, hitting a leadoff double on a fastball from IronPigs starter Kolby Allard. "I was just excited to be here, and it was nice to get that first one out of the way," he remarked after the game. His performance included a run scored after advancing to third on a fielder's choice and later walking home on a home run by teammate Triston Casas. In addition to Anthony, Kyle Teel, who was drafted 14th overall by Boston in 2023, also made his first appearance. However, fellow prospect Marcelo Mayer did not play, as he is still recovering from a lower back injury. The game concluded with Worcester holding off a late rally from the IronPigs, securing a narrow victory that added to the excitement of the prospects' first day at the Triple-A level.
